The Get Down was built to fix that. Our SE Portland space features a full professional stage, sound and lighting system, solid hardwood dance floor, full bar, and walls you'll actually want to photograph. The personality hits you the moment you walk in.

We specialize in reception bookings for couples who've handled the ceremony and are ready for the real celebration to begin.

The Get Down is primarily a wedding reception venue. We're at our best when couples host their ceremony elsewhere and come to us for the party — our space is optimized for dancing, live music, and the kind of energy that makes a reception actually memorable.

That said, our flexible layout can accommodate ceremony-to-reception flow for certain formats. Ask our team what's possible for your date and guest count.

Can we bring a live band?

Absolutely. The Get Down has a proper stage and pro sound system built for live bands. Professional sound and lighting technicians are available (included in Signature and Full Venue packages).

What's the maximum guest capacity?

450 standing or 300 seated across the full venue. Seated capacity varies based on your layout. The full space is over 10,000 sq ft.

Do you host ceremonies?

We're primarily a reception venue. Most couples use us after hosting their ceremony elsewhere. Ceremony-to-reception flow is possible for some formats — ask us.

Can we bring outside catering?

Yes. Outside caterers are welcome. We can also connect you with our preferred catering partners for a full vendor coordination experience from start to finish.

Are the bridal suites private?

Yes. Two separate green rooms — one with a private bath, shower, and full vanity. Included in Signature and Full Venue packages.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend reaching out 6–12 months in advance for peak dates, which book quickly. Off-peak and weekday dates tend to have more flexibility. Contact us to check availability for your date.

Is the sound system included?

Yes — the full professional sound and lighting system is included in all packages. No extra equipment rental required. Tech specs are available on our website.

Do you have parking?

We're located at 680 SE 6th Ave in Portland's SE Industrial district. Street parking and nearby lots are available. Contact our team for parking guidance specific to your event size.
